It's a short safety course about blood and needles that virtually every state requires. It's done online in a few hours — not hard; many states require an annual renewal. We point you to the right course for your state and guide you through it.

In most states: NO. Permanent makeup runs through the body art / tattoo system of the health department — not the cosmetology system. A cosmetology or nail license doesn't replace the PMU process, and not having one doesn't stop you. State-by-state details are in our license guide.
